MacBooks, PowerBooks, and Treasure Chests.
*Mac start up chime*
More Apple Stuff:
As the title implies, I now have more Apple stuff. Lots of it. More laptops, some Apple boxes, and a plastic bin full of accessories. And, though not an actual treasure chest, it’s pretty close to one, especially for someone like me, who really likes old Apple stuff. A huge thank you to the person who gave these to me. I’m very happy to have them.
The Treasure Chest
I'll start with the Treasure Chest.
The Treasure Chest.
Inside the Treasure Chest.
I have already sifted through it, and this isn’t what it looked like when I got it. It had more in it, though because I wanted to actually use the chest, I removed some of the items from it. The FireWire hard drive is quite useful. USB2 is slow, and FireWire is much faster.
The contents of the Treasure Chest. Read on for more information.
Some of the items in this photo weren’t actually in the chest, specifically the three chargers. Those were in a trash bag, along with a Apple Magic Mouse (an old one that takes AA batteries).
I was really excited about the Treasure Chest’s contents. To add onto the excitement, there were some physical discs for installing software.
From left to right, top row first: Pixelmatos, Office for Mac 2004, Virtual PC for Mac version 7, AppleCare, Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6.3), iWork '09, and iLife '05.
Including a Snow Leopard install DVD! I was excited about that, since it’d save me lots of time digging around for the ISO, trying to get it on a USB, and trying to convince the Mac to boot off of it. Besides, it’s a physical disc, much like all of the software in there. I quite like software in packaging, and it’s nice to have some. The Snow Leopard disc also had Apple stickers in there as a bonus.
Besides all of the accessories and that software, there was also stuff from the PowerBook and the 2008 MacBook I ended up with. User manuals, Mac propaganda, and recovery discs for the PowerBook, and the recovery discs and Apple stickers for the 2008 MacBook.

There was also an interesting black cloth, still in the original packaging, with an Apple logo on it. This must be the predecessor to the Apple Polishing Cloth. I’ve never seen nor heard of these, so it’s quite an interesting find.
Apple cloth. It's black, matches the color of the G4 box, and is still in its original plastic.
There was also an AirPort Extreme, which was jammed into the Treasure Chest. I ended up with its original packaging, so I stuffed it into there instead.
AirPort Extreme. There is also an AirPort Express, also from the Treasure Chest, in this photo.
Along with the original packaging theme, there was also a probably rarely-or-never-used plug for the PowerBook. It still has the original plastic on it, like it was freshly picked from the Apple tree. I put that in its original packaging too. There was also packaging for an Apple Wireless Mouse, though I assume it was replaced with the Magic Mouse at some point. I put the Magic Mouse in the photo since I have reason to believe the original mouse is long gone.

The Laptops.
This time, there were three laptops, of which I shall list here, from newest to oldest.
The first was a mid-2012 13-inch MacBook Pro. I initially thought it a 2011, though I forgot to look at the USB ports, which would have immediately given it away as being a 2012.
The MacBook Pro.
The second was a Late 2008 Unibody MacBook. It was Apple’s only unibody MacBook, and was discontinued in favor of re-branding the device as a MacBook Pro the next year. Thanks to this laptop, I am now only missing one 13-inch unibody MacBook Pro to have one from each year. It’s also super easy to upgrade the device’s internals, something you don’t get on modern Macs anymore. The original box was also included.

And the third, and most exciting of them all (at least for me): The early-2004 15-inch PowerBook G4. I’ve never had a PowerPC Mac, so this is my first PowerPC, and I quite like it.

All three of these laptops will get their post at some point in time. Probably at least one by the end of the year, since I’ve got some other posts waiting since this October to be written.
Not-Mac-Related-Stuff.
It’s been fairly normal stuff. The chickens are fine, Agathae seem to have been working on her moult, I believe Dominica may finally be beginning hers, and Felicitas is covered in pin feathers. We had our first freeze yesterday, with 30F (-1C) temperatures in the morning. It was 35F this morning.
And tomorrow's All Saints Day, so I wish you a happy and blessed feast of All Saints!

Felicitas. Poor her. Look at all those pin feathers!
"Do you MIND?!"
